A stunning range of five black and white Elizabethan painted cloths made to order and supplied ready to hang. Black & white antickework was a very popular form of decoration in Elizabethan England. The genre typically included geometric designs, grotesques and multivines depicted in black on a white background. We have selected five of the best examples from across the country to celebrate this unique fashion in interiors. The slideshow (right) depicts the five designs and gives a little history for each. The cloths may be hung flat as tapestries or gathered as curtains.
