As part of extensive renovations in 2002 Fairlyte painted a 17th century verdure design on linen which was nailed to batons around the four walls of the parlour. The design was derived from an extremely rare surviving painted cloth at Owlpen Manor Swan House B&B1 Hill Street, Hastings, TN34 3HUThis museum was a Benedictine monastery founded in 1087. As part of a major redisplay project Exeter City Council commissioned us to reconstruct an existing 16th century frieze and to paint it on linen as a frieze. This was fitted above painted panelling (by a different artist) in a ground floor parlour.
